Dual extruder increase the print quality enabling water-soluble support material or two color prints at the same time.

3D Printer with dual extruders

For anyone seriously considering a 3D printer the 3D Systems Cube 3 Printer in White does not cost much and is from a known manufacturer. The 3D printer also looks great from a design standpoint. However, the manufacturer has withdrawn from the market for private users and 3D System does not produce the Cube anymore.
One of our favourite 3D Printers with dual extruders is the Flashforge Dreamer . It is a device for advanced and motivated home makers or educational institutions. The 3D Printer is challenging for newcomers, at least when using two materials. However, the same is true for the other 3D Printers. As the only competition in this price range is the Wanhao Duplicator 4S This unit is amazingly versatile with a closed pressure chamber and a heated plate. The form is reminds us of the MakerBot Replicator or the FlashForge Creator Pro Still, our winner is the Wanhao Duplicator 4S succeeding both alternatives in cost and scope of delivery. The machine is not suitable for beginners due to the heated print bed. It is an optimal device for curious or advanced users, as well as universities or businesses.
The Leapfrog Creatr HS has a lot of negative customer reviews on the Internet and also our partners report bad experiences. When printing with a print head, dimensions of 280 x 270 x 180 mm are possible and with 2 print heads 28 x 24 x 18 cm as the maximum build volume. This is a lot of space, but no build size helps if the 3D printer does not work due to errors. Therefore we recommend on of the 3D Printers from the the price range of 500$ — 1000$.

3D Printer with integrated scanners

The all-in-one solutions combine 3D Printe with 3D Scanner technologies in one device.

Below 1000$

The XYZprinting da Vinci AiO combines different technologies in one device. The biggest advantage are the possible applications of the 3D printer and scanner. This allows makers to digitize objects with the device to afterwards replicate it 3 dimensionally as often as necessary. Nevertheless, there are restrictions and the technology is still not completely mature. Therefore, the use of the all-in-one solution is relatively complicated and untarnished. However, you receive an all-in-one solution for a relatively low price enabling various experiments and projects.

More than 2000$

In comparison to the XYZprinting da Vinci AiO, the AIO Robotics Zeus is a more professional device. Still, the model has similar errors and difficulties due to the immature technology. For the more expensive price you receive better technology with the touch screen and higher quality results.
